Materials
Sterling Silver: Our jewelry is made with 925 sterling silver, known for its durability and timeless luster. This high-quality alloy consists of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals for added strength. In addition to that, all our silver colored jewellery is plated with rhodium to preserve its shine and keep it tarnish-free for as long as possible - depending on individual wear and tear.
Gold Vermeil: Our gold vermeil pieces feature a thick layer of 24k gold base plating, and a 18K gold flash plating over a 925 sterling silver base to give the pieces a unique and stylish yellow gold color. This creates a luxurious gold finish with the durability of silver.
It’s important to distinguish gold vermeil from gold plating, with the latter being most commonly used in jewelry manufacturing. Gold vermeil jewelry has a gold layer that’s several times thicker - and therefore longer lasting - than the more commonly used gold plating. However, the specific durability of each piece depends on individual factors such as including frequency of wear, environmental exposure, care & maintenance, type of use and body chemistry, including individual skin PH, sweat and oil production. Silver: Gently clean with a soft, lint- and chemical-free cloth to restore shine. For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap and lukewarm water solution, then dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, as they can damage the rhodium plating and lead to faster tarnishing.
Gold Vermeil: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth to maintain the gold finish. Avoid abrasive materials or soaking, as this may wear down the gold layer over time.
